St. Joseph's Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers

Location: Inpatient Facility - Saranac Lake, NY

Position: Part-time Residential Aide

Schedule: 24-29 hours per week, 11:00pm to 7:00am

Pay Range: $15.50/hour to $22.00/hour

Position Summary: The Overnight Residential Aide is responsible for providing overnight support and supervision to residents in a residential facility. They ensure the safety and security of the premises while promoting a supportive and therapeutic environment conducive to residents' well-being and recovery.

Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or training in a related field preferred.

Qualifications and Requirements: Previous experience working in a residential or similar setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and effectively manage crisis situations. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Duties:

1. Monitoring: Conduct regular checks and rounds of the facility throughout the night to ensure the safety and security of residents and premises.
2. Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or incidents that may arise during the night shift, following established protocols and procedures.
3. Assistance: Provide assistance and support to residents as needed, including responding to requests for help and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
4. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of activities, incidents, and interactions that occur during the night shift, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
5. Communication: Communicate effectively with other staff members, including providing updates and sharing relevant information about residents' needs and any incidents that occur during the night.
6. Adherence to Policies: Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including confidentiality guidelines, safety protocols, and resident care standards.
7. Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the facility during the night shift, including performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
8. Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as necessary, utilizing appropriate techniques and strategies to manage challenging situations.
9. Supportive Environment: Foster a supportive and therapeutic environment for residents, promoting their comfort, dignity, and autonomy throughout the night.
10. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
    
11. All other duties as assigned by management.
