Job DescriptionBrandt is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Student for our Bloomington, IL location.

This position is responsible for working with other departments within the organization to improve efficiency and product quality by designing manufacturing processes, fixtures, workflows, and equipment.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with the Design team and shop floor to develop jigs and fixtures to improve efficiencies and increase quality of products being builtMaximizing efficiency by analyzing layout of process equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilizationUtilizing the appropriate tools and methodologies of lean manufacturing to inspire continuous improvement operating excellenceManaging projects from concept to completionCreating and implement meaningful metrics that can be used to benchmark performance and highlight future opportunitiesDocumenting process methods and develops standard operating proceduresOther duties as assignedRequired SkillsKnowledge of commonly-used practices and equipment used in manufacturingExperience in CAD/CAM is considered an asset; experience with SolidWorks is preferredMust be self-motivatedExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsMust be familiar with quality and lean principlesMust be well-organized and capable of multi-taskingStrong project management skillsStrong attention to detail
