    Title: Project Manager/Business Analyst

    Location: Des Moines, IA (Hybrid)

    Our company is looking for a skilled individual to take on the role of a Project Manager/Business Analyst. This hybrid position requires a solid background in IT Project Management and Business Analysis. The project at hand involves updating and integrating teacher and administrator workforce data for the Iowa Department of Education.

    This role entails leading meetings, solving problems, facilitating communication, and documenting project status. It is an opportunity to contribute to Iowa's teacher workforce data collection and reporting systems in a mission-driven environment.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Identifying and scheduling project deliverables, milestones, and required activities.
    • Guiding project team members throughout the project life cycle and outlining work plans.
    • Analyzing and documenting business requirements with project sponsors, data system owners, subject matter experts, and program consultants.
    • Creating a data catalog, defining system design with stakeholders, and coordinating technical systems/services development and testing.
    • Maintaining project management documentation, ensuring project quality and compliance with timelines.
    • Directing project personnel and vendor representatives towards achieving project goals aligned with business objectives.
    • Monitoring project activities to ensure deliverable quality and performing change control.

    Requirements

    • Four or more years of IT project management experience
    • Experience with project management methodologies such as waterfall, agile, and hybrid.
    • Working experience with diverse teams on IT projects including data systems and application deployments.
    • Proficiency in extracting requirements and developing documentation.
    • Analytical skills for working with data, creating reports, and sharing with stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of project management methodology and program management approaches.
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Experience managing projects similar in size and complexity to the Department's projects.

    Desirable Qualifications

    Certification in project management (e.g., PMP)

    Experience in State government, academic institutions, or similar organizations.
