    Job Summary

    Responsible for serving in a leadership role to oversee the entire BI engineering function. Defines strategy, manages large migrations, and stays updated on cutting-edge technologies. Provides leadership that sets best practices and standards for Business Intelligence Engineering.

    Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities


    Leads the BI and data engineering team in achieving BI COE and business functions goals.


    Manages complex data preparation projects and ensures smooth data transition.


    Builds and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders across departments.


    Sets the Fabric Semantic Layer strategy.


    Defines and oversees the overall Business Intelligence, data engineering and architecture strategy for the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence.


    Identifies and implements new data technologies to optimize data pipelines.


    Stays ahead of the curve on emerging data trends and technologies.

    Nature and Scope

    Solutions require analysis and investigation.
    Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
    Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
    Work Environment

    Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
    Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
    Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
    Education and Experience

    Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
    Preferred Qualifications

    This is a REMOTE position.
    5+ years of experience in data engineering - REQUIRED.
    Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale data projects - REQUIRED.
    Deep expertise in Azure data services including Microsoft Fabric and big data technologies - REQUIRED.
    Strong leadership and mentoring skills - REQUIRED.
    Excellent communication and problem-solving skills - REQUIRED.

    Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Data Engineer certification (highly preferred). May possess additional certifications relevant to specific cloud technologies.
