- Greet prospects and qualify by covering all criteria (ask questions; utilize completed guest cards, etc.).
- Record all telephone and in-person visits in Yardi Voyager
- Files own guest cards and maintain according to established procedures.
- Inspect models and available "market ready", communicate related service needs to Property Manager.
- Demonstrate community and apartment/model and product knowledge to clients' by communicating the features and benefits; close the sale.
- Have prospect complete application and secure deposit in accordance with the company procedures and Fair Housing requirements.
- Update availability report, process applications for approvals. (i.e., credit check, rental history, etc.)
- Follow up with applicants regarding status.
- Ensure the apartment is ready for residents to move-in on the scheduled date in lease agreement.
- Follow-up on prospects that did not close and attempt to close sale again.
- Secure new resident's signature(s) on appropriate paperwork prior to move-in.
- Orient new residents to the community.
- Assist in monitoring renewals. Distribute and follow-up on renewal notices.
- Always represent the company in a professional manner.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One (1) years' experience in previous relevant customer service or sales field.
- Must be a self starter and proactive.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Excellent problem resolution and consultative sales skills.
- Ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns and avoid escalation of problems.
- Fair Housing Cerification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to support and contribute to the community team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to smile in difficult circumstances.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.

Position Overview:
Banyan Living is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leasing Consultant to join our team in Akron/Canton, Ohio. The leasing Consultant acts as an initial ambassador between the public, the residents of the apartment community, and the community management team.
