    Job Title: Medical Science Liaison (Rare Disease/Liver Disease)

    Company Overview: Our client is a leading pharmaceutical company focused on researching, developing, and delivering innovative therapies for rare diseases and liver conditions. Committed to significantly impacting patients' lives, we are in search of a skilled and experienced Medical Science Liaison to enhance our team.

    Position Overview: As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) with expertise in rare disease or liver conditions, your role is pivotal as the link connecting our client with the medical community, including healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, and patient advocacy groups. Utilizing your knowledge and industry background, you will offer scientific and clinical support for our product portfolio, nurture collaborative partnerships, and contribute to the progression of medical knowledge in the field.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Scientific Expertise: Keep updated on the latest advancements, clinical data, and treatment guidelines related to rare diseases or liver conditions, establishing yourself as a specialist in the therapeutic domain.
    • Education and Training: Present scientifically precise and compelling information to healthcare professionals, KOLs, and other stakeholders concerning disease states, product features, clinical data, and treatment pathways.
    • Key Opinion Leader Engagement: Develop and sustain solid relationships with KOLs, academic institutions, and professional bodies to encourage collaboration, acquire insights, and back research endeavors.
    • Medical Inquiry Management: Provide prompt and comprehensive responses to medical queries from healthcare professionals, offering evidence-based details and assistance as required.
    • Clinical Support: Engage with cross-functional teams to aid clinical trial operations, encompassing site identification, investigator gatherings, and protocol formulation.
    • Strategic Input: Offer strategic advice and perspectives to internal parties, such as Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Research & Development, to shape product strategies and ventures.
    • Patient Advocacy: Collaborate with patient advocacy groups and engage in educational endeavors to elevate awareness of rare diseases or liver conditions and support patient-centered activities.
    • Compliance: Ensure all interactions and tasks adhere to relevant regulations, industry norms, and company directives.

    Qualifications:

    • Preferred advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD).
    • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Medical Science Liaison or related position in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sphere, particularly within rare diseases or liver conditions.
    • Solid grasp of clinical research, pharmacology, and drug development procedures.
    • Outstanding communication and presentation capabilities, with the knack to effectively convey intricate scientific notions to varied audiences.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in establishing and upholding relationships with key opinion leaders and other invested parties.
    • Display of strategic thinking, adept problem-solving skills, and sound decision-making acumen.
    • Capability to operate autonomously and cooperatively in a fast-paced, lively setting.
    • Readiness to undertake frequent travel (approximately 50-70% of the time).

    Location: This role offers remote work opportunities, with regular travel anticipated within Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
