    Job Description:

    Responsible for analyzing and maintaining statistical data on all import transportation activity. Analyze data integrity summarize data into KPI reports maintained and updated for management. Perform monthly reconcile allocation of cost accurately to product level for air and ocean import activity with accounting team. Monitor shipment activity for delays and anomalies and seek resolution from third party logistics providers. This position will be based in Southern California or Indianapolis, Indiana. You will be in office 2-3 days out of the week.

    Specific responsibilities include:
    • Develop, maintain, and analyze domestic and import transportation databases
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports to provide management with projected year-end results
    • Determine significant variances from forecast and provide explanations
    • Prepare monthly analysis of freight expenses including, trend analysis and carrier analysis
    • Assist accounting with the monthly freight accrual process
    • Provide management with freight bid comparisons
    • Assist in gathering, organizing, and analyzing information for various projects. Coordinate with other departments, as necessary
    • Prepare and distribute materials for periodic reporting purposes
    • Assist, analyze, and manage carrier rate negotiations to ensure the lowest transportation rates with the highest transportation and logistics quality
    • Perform all other responsibilities and ad hoc projects as assigned or required in support of business and strategic initiatives.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
    • Understand and follow company rules and regulations
    • Fulfill responsibilities under ISO 9001, understand and fully support ISO system
    • Fulfill responsibilities under OHSAS 18001, understand and fully support OHSAS 18001 system
    • Perform all other duties as assigned and required
    • Audit and account coding for freight invoices
    Education and Experience Requirements:
    • Three to Five years experience in a similar position; experience with logistics operation preferred.
    • BA/BS in Logistics, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred.
    • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access
    • Must work well independently and in a team environment.
