Luke's University Health Network, the region's largest, most established health system, a major teaching hospital, and one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals is seeking full-time Obesity Medicine Specialists to join a busy multidisciplinary, MBSAQIP Comprehensive Center and Medical Weight Management Program.
Candidates with previous Obesity Medicine experience is preferred.We currently have offices in Allentown, Bethlehem, Stroudsburg, Palmerton, and Tamaqua PA and in Phillipsburg, NJ, which include Medical Weight Management and Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Weight Management.
This position represents an exciting opportunity for the right physician to work with our current obesity medicine specialists and multi-disciplinary team to champion the outreach and education efforts focused on the medical prevention and treatment of obesity.
We currently have two employed obesity medicine specialists and a dedicated support team that consists of APs, registered dieticians, and behavioral health specialists.

Make best efforts to adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines that have been approved by the medical staff.
Evaluates and implements patient health care needs. Performs routine health maintenance activities for new and established patients.Coordinates patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies as appropriate.
Teaches wellness habits and educates patients on prevention of potential health problems or method of dealing with present problems.
Provides information and materials relating to patient health care needs.Maintains knowledge of current medical practices and skills.
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
Rarely lifting with assistance, up to 100 pounds. Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of residency and/or fellowship in area of specialty.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Board Certified/Eligible in the area of specialty by the appropriate medical board.
