Job summary
The Grain Handling Operator plays a crucial role in the intake handling and storage of corn.This position involves managing conveyors conveyor systems controlling material flow ensuring grain quality through various methods.
This is a full time permanent position with primary work hours being Monday - Friday first shift (6am-2:30pm) with overtime as needed during harvest season.
- Position deflector bars gates chutes or spouts to direct material flow between conveyors
- Weigh or measure materials using scales to verify tonnages and prevent overloads
- Control equipment by manipulating valves levers and controls to adjust material flows
- Clean maintain equipment workstations machinery monitor operations ensure proper functioning operate elevator systems alongside conveyor systems read schedules collaborate supervisors sorting transfer procedures maintain grain quality prevent deterioration infestation
