Description
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Resident Care
- Oversee all nursing services to ensure safe, effective,
and compassionate resident care
- Ensure proper assessment, care planning,
implementation, and evaluation of resident care
- Monitor resident outcomes and address quality-of-care
concerns
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other
healthcare professionals
Leadership & Staff
Management
- Supervise and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs,
and nurse managers)
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate nursing
staff
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work
environment
- Address staff performance issues and conduct
disciplinary actions when necessary
Regulatory Compliance &
Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local
regulations (e.g., CMS, state health departments)
- Prepare for and participate in surveys, inspections,
and audits
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
consistent with regulations
- Lead quality assurance and performance improvement
(QAPI) initiatives
Administrative &
Operational Duties
Develop and manage nursing department budgets
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and efficient use of
resources
Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
Participate in facility leadership meetings and
strategic planning
Education & Staff
Development
- Ensure ongoing education, training, and competency
evaluations for nursing staff
- Stay current with best practices in long-term care
nursing
- Promote infection control, safety, and risk management
programs
Requirements
- 3-5 years Nursing experience -
[REQUIRED] - Prior Leadership or management experience in LTC [PREFERRED]
- Associate Degree in Nursing -
[REQUIRED] - Bachelor Degree in Nursing - [PREFERRED]
- CPR certification -
[REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT] - Infection Control Certified -
[REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT] - Experience
