    You will perform a variety of tasks in leading and managing operations, technical projects or programs pertaining to Naval operations as well as fleet Liaison.

    You will be overseeing technical duties and responsibilities in a governmental or military environment, managing ongoing projects on schedule and within defined budget parameters, and having experience in U.Navy afloat operations.

    You will liaise with the Program Office and supporting commands by acting as program office representative with OPNAV, USFF, PACFLT, numbered fleets, CTFs, port operations as well as other organizations in execution of assigned missions.

    You will provide periodic, and case driven operational updates, to include Plans of Action and Milestones for all assigned projects.

    You will liaise with Military Sealift Command (MSC) through engagement on all matters pertaining to assigned assets (ships) plus other ships' readiness and support requirements.

    You will manage leased ships' operations and schedules.

    You will manage depot repair facilities and comply with respective regulatory compliance standards in CONUS or deployed through Ships Support Units.

    You will conduct mission planning by managing commercial cable de-confliction and undersea domain awareness.
    You will provide advanced planning and design support for installation and repair of program assets.
    You will coordinate at-sea operations, including sea trials periods, plus test and transmission requirements.
    You will ensure maritime platforms' communications capabilities and manning are sufficient for mission requirements.

    Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

    Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

    You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

    This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.

    You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
    This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. You will be subject to random testing.
    This position requires the incumbent to travel and sometimes to foreign locations.


    This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a Mechanical Engineer (0830-series), a Computer Engineer (0854-series), an Electronics Engineer (0855-series), or a Computer Scientist (1550-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate.

    In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-3 pay band (GS-9/11 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.


    Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

    as a professional engineer applying a wide range of theories, concepts, principles, standards, and methods of engineering, test, evaluation and analysis for project efforts related to maritime surveillance.

    Qualifications Standards Manual:

    To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

    Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

    Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g.

    Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.

    Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g.

    A bachelor's degree in computer science.
    ORA bachelor's or higher degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.

    At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must be in a combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
