    Position Summary

    Assist in providing direct quality patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
    Participates in the assessment of patients.
    Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating/revising the plan of care.
    Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promote and professional development.
    Develops leadership role within the LPN scope of practice. Participates in Service Excellence Program.

    Responsibilities

    Assist in providing direct quality patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.

    Assist in the coordination of intradepartmental and interdepartmental patient care activities and seeks to promote harmonious professional relations: utilizes nursing education to provide direct patient care and improve patient's physiological and emotional well-being.

    Collaborates with members of the health care team; monitors and communicates changes in the patient's condition; may document care in patient's medical record, procedures and nursing standards; and acts as a role model for students and other employees.

    Assists in completing the nursing admission record consistent with policies and interviews patient/significant others to complete health history.
    Documents care and patient's response to care within the framework of the standards of Nursing Service.

    Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating and revising the plan of care: Participates in implementing the plan of are through effective use of procedural and organizational skills.

    Minimum Requirements

    LPN Diploma
    Active NC LPN License or compact state
    American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    Exposure and practice of medication administration from educational preparation and student clinical practice.
