    ReGeneration Schools is a nonprofit school management organization dedicated to creating successful schools through a college prep and character mission. We manage three K-8 elementary campuses in Chicago, IL, and two campuses in Cincinnati, OH, that serve over 1,900 low-income students. Our mission is to ensure that all children have access to a high quality, college-preparatory education through academic excellence and the content of their character.

    We are accomplishing that mission every day, moving from the bottom 17% of the state to being rated as the #1 gap busting network in Illinois in ELA and #3 in math by Stanford's 2023 Credo Report.

    Superintendents at ReGeneration Schools serve as vitally important leaders in our organization and help drive the success of our schools and principals. The Superintendent oversees instructional and academic programs for all middle schools within the network and is accountable for developing principals and instructional leaders to drive student success and achievement within their schools.

    As a Superintendent at ReGeneration Schools, you will oversee instruction and manage and support a group of Principals. The Superintendent is a full-time employee, hired, supported, and, evaluated by the Chief Academic Officer.

    The responsibilities include:

    Management of Academic Program:

    • Using data and daily observations, partner with Principals to constantly evaluate and improve instruction, teacher training and coaching, curriculum implementation, assessments, and other aspects of schools' academic programs and culture;
    • Partner with Principals to build a positive culture with staff, students, and families;
    • Support Principals to plan and implement summer and school-year training and professional development for teachers;
    • Work with Principals and Case Managers to ensure that teachers are implementing special education services in accordance with the law;
    • Support Principals to oversee the hiring of teachers and other school staff.

    Management and Development of Principals and Instructional Leaders:

    • Provide weekly coaching and development to principals through modeling and analyzing data
    • Conduct informal and annual formal evaluations of principals
    • Plan and implement training for Principal Fellows and all network instructional leaders;
    • Recruit for and participate in Principal and instructional leader interview process;
    • Support, develop and execute Principal professional development
    • Build a personal and professional network to cultivate future instructional and leadership talent at ReGen.

    Management of Regional and Organization-wide Instruction:

    • Build a cohesive, consistent culture for schools through Principal meetings and communications;
    • Support strategic planning with principals to identify instructional priorities
    • Ensure assessments, reports, and other data needs are managed and implemented by instructional leaders and school-based operations staff;

    Execution of ReGeneration's Mission and Vision:

    • Deliver training, advisory and coaching to staff members, fostering a culture of inclusion and promoting equity principles
    • Provide and model leadership to all staff, students, and families in establishing a joyful, structured, and achievement-oriented school culture.
    • Partner ReGeneration Schools leaders to support operational and compliance needs
    • Help foster relationships with regional Boards of Trustees and funders
    • Partner with the Home Office to meet organizational needs, including development, marketing, and recruitment;
    • Serve as a member of the ReGeneration Schools Senior Instructional Team

    Qualifications:

    • Exemplary educator that can model great instruction across math and ELA
    • Strong belief that low-income students can become college- and career-ready.
    • Track record of leading students and staff to outstanding results, particularly with underserved communities
    • An adept problem-solver with a demonstrated ability to think critically, plan strategically, as well as research and perform detailed data analysis;
    • Skilled in written and oral communication to diverse audiences and facilitating decision-making among multiple parties;
    • Proactive and fast learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment;
    • Ability to provide high leverage feedback via classroom observations and school walk-throughs;
    • Grit, personal responsibility, and a commitment to continual professional growth;
    • Strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail, and follow-through;
    • Belief and alignment with ReGeneration's core beliefs and educational philosophy.
    • Reflective about personal strengths and weaknesses and able to effectively balance confidence with humility.
    • Experience as a school principal in a high-performing urban public school is required;
    • A Bachelor's degree is required, and a graduate degree in education, public policy, or related field is strongly preferred.
