    Description

    Applied Materials is looking for a Global-Product-Support Engineer to join our team working on the Actionable Insights Accelerator (AIX (TM)) platform.

    AIX is an innovative platform that accelerates the discovery, development, and commercial deployment of new chip technologies. It includes ChamberAI(TM) consisting of new sensors and machine learning algorithms for Applied Materials process chambers that provide engineers with real-time analytics of variables including chemistry, energy, pressure, temperature, and duration.

    Job Description Summary:

    Recognized as an expert within the company. Anticipates internal and or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product, or service improvements. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. Contributes to the development of functional strategy. Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives. Progression to this level is typically restricted based on business requirements.

    The position will entail the following:

    • Create, test, and verify installation/upgrade instructions for Applied Materials' product releases.
    • Develop new procedures and Best-Known Methods (BKMs) to service new products.
    • Understand, research, and resolve internal and external application and systems issues.
    • Member of the product development team who contributes to product design and enhancement, establishes support infrastructure, and distributes the product knowledge.
    • Ensures customer needs are being addressed during the development stage, ensures corrective actions and lessons learned are part of the design consideration, contributes to the Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) process, develops new procedures and BKMs, addresses top-field issues.
    • Participates first build and test, installs (or retrofits) and qualifies ELS (Early Learning Shipment) at customers sites, collects ELS performance data to identify, solves potential issues that occur in the lab (or works with Engineering to design solutions) and provides feedback to Engineering and Technology, owns beta site test plans and reporting.
    • Responsible for documentation of product procedures, BKMs, troubleshooting guides, etc. and ensures legacy corrective actions and Lessons Learned are captured in New Products design intent.
    • Develops training skeleton for the new product, works with AGU to develop training classes and spare-parts lists, trains CE's, PSE's, TPS of customers who get the Early Learning Shipments, and aligns with GTT (Global Technical training) on the overall training plan for new products.
    • Performs First in Fab, First in Region installation support and product support CIP for legacy products.
    • Anticipates business and regulatory issues; recommends product, process, or service improvements.
    • Leads projects with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for project execution.
    • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.
    • Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project, or services; works within general functional policies and industry guidelines.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor/Masters in Systems/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Eng with 2+ years of work experience.
    • Proven project leadership record.
    • Semiconductor-industry and software-industry experience.
    • Field Product Support experience in installing and troubleshooting complex hardware equipment.
    • Demonstrated Windows experience.
    • Demonstrated Visual-Basic or Python or other programming-language experience.
    • Network-infrastructure & RAID-HW understanding.
    • Open to <=40% travel to leading semiconductor chip manufacturing fabs overseas.
    • Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting and communication skills.
    • Excellent technical editing, writing & script development skills.
    • Ability to work in a team and ability to work independently.

    U.S. Salary Range:

    $160, $220,000.00

    The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

    For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
