    Job Description

    We are seeking experienced interpreters to provide sign language interpretation services in a variety of settings, including working with individuals who are deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and/or oral.

    Language: American Sign Language (ASL) US-Based Interpreter

    An ideal candidate will have 3 years' experience working as an interpreter, an associate's or bachelor's degree, interpreter certification, and understanding of deaf culture and social experiences.

    Candidate Qualifications:

    • Interpreter certification
    • Understanding of deaf culture, social experiences of deaf and hard of hearing persons, history of education for students who have various levels of hearing loss, and current pedagogical trends
    • Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic scheduling and internet
    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and within a team

    Responsibilities:

    • Effectively interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English
    • Maintain compliance with any national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements
    • Adhere to guidelines for NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
    • Accurately complete assigned tasks/duties, projects and paperwork promptly and within approved guidelines
    • Possess the ability to quickly learn and implement new and changing technologies
    • Possess the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic, highly regulated environment

    Requirements:

    • Computer or Laptop
    • Windows 10 or higher
    • Steady wired internet connection
    • Webcam
    • USB wired headset
    • Backdrop; use a contrasting, solid color like royal blue, charcoal, or bright green.
