    Description

    Working closely with the Assistant Manager, the Pool Deck Attendant is responsible for setting up and maintaining cabanas, assisting guests in requesting cabanas, provide other supporting services, escorting guests to their reserved cabanas, and in the proper use of pool facilities and equipment, including the safety of guests in and around the pool area.

    Core Job Responsibilities:

    • Prepare all cabanas before pool opening; ensuring towels are placed, menus are clean, and cabana is ready to be occupied.
    • Greet guests and offers assistance and/or instruction in the use of the Pool.
    • Handle all guest requests and information for cabana reservations, including booking reservations, waiting lists, and notifying Cabana Attendants and Cocktail Servers of cabana occupancy.
    • Check system to review reserved cabanas and preset as needed; update system status throughout the day, and closeout reservations to ensure information is accurate and timely.
    • Check with VIP Services to ensure there are no additions to the cabana list prior to opening.
    • Is in position at the podium at least 15 minutes prior to opening.
    • Check on cabana guests, assisting with all requests, regularly throughout the day
    • Clean cabanas regularly throughout the day, including end of the day to ensure the deck is ready for the next business day
    • Oversee swimmers in and around the pool and hot tub areas, issues towels, and equipment to guests
    • Report any safety hazards to supervisor immediately; stays in location until help arrives
    • Report any maintenance issues to the supervisor immediately
    • Must be physically present at work, in assigned workstation, in order to perform all functions required of the position
    • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
    Qualifications:
    • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in The United States
    • High school or equivalent education required
    • Candidates must be able to communicate in English fluently and in a professional manner, in written and oral form.
    • Must have current Lifesaving/Lifeguard, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and AED Certifications
    • Previous experience in a similar pool/resort setting involving high profile customer contact, or through six months of on-the-job training
    • Preferred: 1-2 years experience in a full-service hospitality establishment
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain any license or work cards required, including: Nevada Gaming Registration, Nevada Alcohol Awareness card and a Food Handlers Training card from Southern Nevada Health District.
    • Great team player with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the group. Collaborative approach with all departments
    • Communicate effectively at all times, with customers as well as all levels of employees.
    • Inspect and maintain areas for which responsible. Must be able to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make a change.
    • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
    • Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to pool equipment and cash register. Ability to work a flexible schedule
    Physical Demands:
    • Work is performed in an outdoor pool setting.
    • Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, wet/humid conditions, crowds, and noise.
    • Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as slippery conditions. Proper safety precautions are taken.
    • Effectively and efficiently move around the work area.
    • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
    • May be exposed to smoke
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
    • Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests.
    • Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
    • Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
    • Lift up to 60 pounds and push and pull up to 100 pounds of towels, equipment, and supplies
    • Eye/hand coordination.
    • Use of standard office equipment.
    • Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
