    General Position Description


    The Director of the Student Wellness Center is responsible for the administration and oversight of programs and personnel that ensure the efficient, equitable, and student-centered delivery of acute behavioral and medical services to students.

    This position is responsible for administrative duties associated with those functions including, but not limited to, program planning and compliance, departmental budgeting, assessment, and meeting the wellness needs of student clients.

    The Director of the Student Wellness Center reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success and Dean of Students.

    Job Duties of the Director include but are not limited to:

    Collegiality/Service


    • Professionally and efficiently execute Cameron University's commitment to student success.
    • Ensure that students are served efficiently with courtesy and respect.
    • Work with all university departments to ensure efficient delivery of services and productive use of resources to meet university expectations with regard to student wellness.
    • Provide counseling services to students.
    • Work with community service providers to ensure that students have referral sources for care beyond the scope of the center.
    • Coordinate an external contract with medical professionals who staff the center and work to ensure that students receive quality care.
    • Coordinate campus community outreach, by offering educational programs and events, support groups and workshop opportunities for the campus.
    • Serve as a member of the University Risk Assessment Committee.
    • Serve on campus committees and provide crisis intervention services, resources, and training on campus.
    • Provide support to the Vice President in the execution of all activities, events and operations in the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success to accomplish institutional and division goals.
    Strategic Planning/Compliance


    • Develop plans and implement strategies to ensure the timely delivery of wellness services to all eligible students.
    • Ensure department operational procedures are followed and the institution is in full compliance with federal and state laws as well as university policies and procedures.
    • Maintain current working knowledge of federal, state and institutional regulations and procedures.
    • Submit federal, state and institutional reports as required.
    Management


    • Perform all appropriate administrative duties including, but not limited to, budget maintenance and personnel development.
    • Manage department staff, ensuring that the center runs efficiently and effectively.
    • Manage CLIA Waived laboratory standards for acute medical care.
    • Negotiate and, if applicable, manage tele-health agreements and services.
    • Conduct assessments to ensure that programs and services meet the needs of the student population.
    Supervision


    • Mental Health Counselor (LPC or LMFT)
    • Administrative Assistant I
    • Student Assistants
    Minimum Qualifications


    • Master's degree in counseling, social work or related field, and licensed in Oklahoma.
    • A minimum of two to five years of mental health counseling experience.
    • Ability to effectively manage staff and provide direct counseling to students.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Experience administering budgets.
    • Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records and reports.
    • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, namely Word and Excel.
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Five or more years of mental health counseling experience in a college/university setting.
    • Demonstrated management experience in a health-related field.
    • Experience addressing behavioral health with a wide variety of student types including at-risk populations.

    Salary Range:
    The position is budgeted at $63,000/year plus benefits. Opportunity for performance compensation is subject to approval and budgetary availability after one year.
