Talimer client, a market-leading manufacturer of concentrated dairy flavors with a rich history and a promising future of bold scientific innovation and passionate creation in collaboration with their customers, seeks a self-motivated IT Field Engineer who is service-focused, enjoys helping others and thrives on problem-solving, for a long-term (2-year) contract role.

The IT Field Engineer role is critical to moving the company forward. This role will maintain legacy hardware and software systems, usher in new technologies, lead transformation efforts by providing users with one-on-one help, while building capacity and process for more autonomous user troubleshooting/access to hardware and software training/support.

The ideal candidate is patient, approachable, process-oriented and can balance technical expertise with an empathetic understanding of end-users needs. The IT Field Engineer leads technical support and hands-on assistance to set up, install, configure, maintain, and repair computer hardware, software, and network systems, including audio-visual (AV) systems.

Start Date: As soon as they find the right person

Duration: Full-time, long-term contract (potentially 2-years)

Location: On-Site in Germantown/Menomonee Falls area

Compensation: Competitive, $35-$55/hour, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:

This position facilitates the company's post-merger growth with direct and indirect maintenance of hardware, software and systems. As they transition to SAP, the IT Field Engineer will support the data migration from legacy systems. This role ensures increased efficiency and alignment of systems/processes that ease the seamless continuity of operations without compromising safety, quality or the company's ethical standards.

Manage current information technology platforms (e.g. Great Plains, Vicinity, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Crystal Reports)
Facilitate data migration for SAP implementation scheduled to launch April 2025
Update and maintain AV systems/equipment in conference rooms and other collaborative spaces
Development of customer support training and procedures
Support and participate in projects: lead processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, support business operations
Empathetically work with end-users and managers at various levels, enthusiastically cooperate with peers across the organization
Oversee upgrades, troubleshooting, systems backups, and disaster recovery
Build capacity and process for more autonomous end-user software/hardware training/support
Ensure that the business processes, applications and hardware, including IT tools, are running well, in cooperation with relevant departments, service units, and 3rd party ERP software suppliers
Prepare departments, stakeholders and end-users for SAP implementation
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with computer hardware, software, and network systems
Perform routine maintenance on computer systems to keep them in good working condition
Respond to emergency repair requests and performing repairs as needed
Communicate with customers and other stakeholders to provide updates on system status and repair progress
Document work performed and maintaining accurate records of system maintenance and repair history

Qualifications:

3-5 years technical experience, preferably in a similar role
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Experience with change management - formally or informally
Empathy, patience and a spirit of collaboration that ensures end-users feel seen and heard - willing to advocate for end-users
Good communication skills and an ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field or equivalent work experience
