    Dr. James Young DDS has openings for a Dental Hygienist who is looking for long-term employment. He is looking for someone who prioritizes patient education and prefers quality over quantity. Office hours are Monday- Thursday 8:00-5:15p

    As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in delivering preventive dental care and promoting oral hygiene practices to our patients. Working closely with our dentists and dental team, you will perform dental cleanings, screenings, and assessments to maintain and improve our patients' oral health. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and patient-centered environment while utilizing your clinical skills and passion for dental hygiene to make a positive impact on our patients' lives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform dental cleanings (prophylaxis) to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth, ensuring thorough cleaning of all surfaces.
    • Conduct comprehensive periodontal assessments, including probing, charting, and evaluating gum health and periodontal status.
    • Take dental X-rays and intraoral photographs as needed to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
    • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling, to prevent dental disease and maintain oral health.
    • Administer fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants to protect teeth from decay and strengthen enamel.
    • Perform oral cancer screenings and detect abnormalities or signs of oral disease for early intervention.
    • Assist dentists during dental procedures, including scaling and root planing, periodontal therapy, and dental examinations.
    • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments provided in electronic health records (EHR) or practice management software.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree or diploma from an accredited dental hygiene program.
    • Current licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in [State].
    • Prior experience working as a dental hygienist in a dental practice setting is preferred.
    • Knowledge of dental hygiene principles, techniques, and procedures.
    • Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and interpreting radiographs.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and motivate patients to maintain good oral hygiene habits.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing quality patient care.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dental team and contribute to a positive work environment.
