    Description
    Accurately perform a large variety of diagnostic laboratory procedures within an acceptable period of time. Apply appropriate quality control procedures and activities and participate actively in the Hospital QCI Program. Perform venipuncture and select proper specimens. Maintain an active continuing education program. Maintain spirit of cooperation with Laboratory and other Hospital personnel and supervisors. Follow Laboratory and Hospital safety and infection control policies and procedures. Conduct business as a health care professional. Perform maintenance on analyzers, as required by policies. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Experience preferred. Must participate in team efforts to complete assigned tasks and accomplish departmental goals. Ability to accept responsibility, work independently and prioritize work responsibilities. Demonstrate initiative to learn and develop in the field of Laboratory Medicine, and

    communication and interpersonal relationship skills.


    EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
    (MT) Graduate from an approved school of Medical Technology

    (MLT) Associate Degree in Medical Lab Technology, Chemistry or Biology

    Current certification from a National Registry Agency (ASCP, ASMT, AMT, HEW, etc.).

    BLS Certification or obtain within six months


    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Intermittent movement throughout the hospital

    Intermittent bending and kneeling

    Ability to lift up to 30% of your body weight

    Ability to read and understand English

    Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

    Ability to interact with physicians, patients, families and staff in a professional manner.

    Ability to maintain matters of a confidential nature

    Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
