Role Overview

The Medical Writer I will be responsible for creating and formatting initial clinical genetic testing reports, to be reviewed by genomic analysts, geneticists, and laboratory directors.

Location:The Medical Writer I will work onsite.

Schedule:Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile clinical genetic testing results and draft reports.
• Create sample reports for client inquiries.
• Assist in testing and validating new report templates with internal software.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues in a team setting.
• Handle confidential information with discretion.
• Prioritize tasks, multitask, and troubleshoot efficiently.
• Quickly adapt to new software programs.
• Uphold company values through accountability, innovation, and teamwork.
• Adhere to Quality Management System policies.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Act inclusively and promote a culture of inclusion.
• Follow designated schedule.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology, Life Sciences Communication, or related field.
• Solid understanding of genetics principles, particularly zygosity and genetic variant nomenclature.
• Familiarity with genetics terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
• Ability to fulfill essential job duties with or without accommodations.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework in genetics.
• Laboratory experience with DNA.
