    SUMMARY

    The LSU Healthcare Network is a non-profit, academic, multi-specialty, healthcare delivery system dedicated to patient care, research and education.     The EHR Analyst provides application support for the EHR and related applications. The analyst is responsible for having a thorough working knowledge of related application(s) functions. Responsible for continually supporting the system and end-users through upgrades, expansion, research and ongoing development. Must be able to work effectively with staff, providers, and management in determining the most effective and efficient means of utilizing the computer system. Additionally, the EHR Analyst will work directly with the Epic Training coordinator to provide in person trainings for all three classifications of LSUHN Staff (Provider, Front Desk/Scheduler and Clinical) and Help Desk Support.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Maintain and support all aspects of the EHR and related applications;
    • Support third-party applications and new functionality;
    • Conduct in person trainings for LSUHN Staff (Providers, Front Desk/Schedulers and Clinical) to optimize use of the EHR, third-party applications and new functionality including educating end-users how to use the system;
    • Work closely with Epic Training Coordinator and Leadership to coordinate training of end-users;
    • Support end-users as it relates to Epic and third-party applications;
    • Ensure classroom attendance is accurately recorded and reported for their training sessions;
    • Record questions and feedback to include in future training sessions or materials to better support end-users;
    • Maintain documentation related to processes and instructions, including end user training documentation;
    • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with end-users and Leadership;
    • Effectively communicate the status of tasks/projects and ensure timely and quality delivery of all deliverables;
    • Support application tasks as needed;
    • Assist with Help Desk functions including but not limited to answering Help Desk emails and calls and providing a solution when able, preparing a ticket, or referring request or problem to the appropriate person.
    Other Duties and Responsibilities:

    Perform other duties as assigned by the Health Information Systems Manager.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
    • High School Graduation or GED equivalent required; College degree in Healthcare, HIM, or related field preferred;
    • 2-3 years of Information Systems analysis preferred;
    • LCMC Credentialing in Ambulatory and Cadence required within 3 months of obtaining the position;
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Proficiency in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, word processing and spreadsheets required;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    • Ability to work independently as a member of a team and users, management and staff;
    • Possess strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with an attention to detail;
    • Ability to deliver classroom training using standard methodology adult learning principles;
    • Possess basic understanding of regulatory, legal and compliance issues in healthcare, such as HIPAA;
    • Knowledge of Information Security principles and practices preferred
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical requirements of the position generally include: standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing. In some circumstances, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling may apply. In general, the activity level one usually performs is light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative and sedentary nature. This position may require lifting up to 25 pounds. The ability to perform job related duties in an environment of above average to high levels of stress.

    Work Schedule:

    This position will require travel to the clinics. Some early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, may be required. Working with outside organizations and traveling (in/out of town) may be needed.
