    Description

    LSU Health Shreveport Communication Disorders Program is a graduate-level professional training program. Within the professional training program, students administer clinical services billed from the LSU Health Shreveport - Allied Health Clinics.


    To provide clinical and academic office coordination and administrative support to the Communication Disorders Program and serve as the liaison between the Program Director, faculty, staff, students, patients, Coordinator of Patient Accounts, University departments, outside vendors, and the general public, including applicants, guest lecturers, and clinical preceptors.

    The ability to work independently and exercise judgment in performing administrative tasks are essential to this job. Incumbent must be able to maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality while working with professors, students, patients, guests, etc.

    Organizational skills, time management, the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work are imperative to the smooth operation of the program.

    The ability to complete tasks in an efficient manner while maintaining accuracy with attention to detail is essential. Effective interaction with all other LSU Health Shreveport departments, faculty and staff is essential.


    The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, beginning at 8:00 AM and concluding at 4:30 PM, additional hours may be required.

    Lunch/Breaks are dictated by workflow. Regular attendance is required to perform the functions of this position.

    Incumbent will maintain a customer-oriented awareness in acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur to assure that customer satisfaction is met at all times.

    Qualifications

    The applicant must meet one of the following:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field from an accredited university with minimum of one (1) year professional experience, OR
    • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field from an accredited university with minimum of two (3) years professional experience, OR
    • Five (5) years of professional experience in a clerical or healthcare setting.
    Preferred Qualifications

    Five (5) years of experience in an academic healthcare setting.
