    Description

    Responsible for completing electronic, electrical, or mechanical troubleshooting and repairing moderately complex problems with equipment used in the manufacturing process.

    May dismantle, adjust, repair, perform preventative maintenance and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, and drawings.

    Assist production and maintenance in all phases of the process from training to TPM. Perform equipment modifications as directed by Engineering.

    *Primary Responsibilities:
    • Must be able to connect to PLC via laptop for troubleshooting applicable equipment.
    • Must be able to operate electrical/electronic test equipment.
    • Must have a working knowledge of electrical drives and be able to use manuals for troubleshooting purposes.
    • Must have the shown the ability to complete electrical projects, modifications, and repairs to the highest standards.
    • Must be able to troubleshoot to determine need for replacing/installing circuit boards.
    • Must be able to troubleshoot communication systems in PLC.
    • Must be able to replace PLC processor.
    • Must be able to perform back-ups of PLC software programs.
    • Must be able to install/maintain PLC hardware.
    • Must be able to install/maintain/troubleshoot servo motors.
    • Troubleshoots and repairs electronic, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
    • Inspect, dismantle, and reassemble mechanical and electrical production equipment.
    • Works from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, verbal instruction, schematics, operating or repair manuals, blueprints, or layout plans.
    • Communicate daily with associates to assist and learn problem solutions for associated production equipment.
    • Develop maintenance materials on specific areas of expertise.
    • Make maintenance decisions based on production priorities and available resources.
    • Provide guidance to associates in proper maintenance techniques.
    • Maintain working knowledge of spare parts to include recommending maximum and minimum levels.
    • May assist Engineering with various projects.
    • Attend Maintenance meetings.
    • Training and implementation of TPM in specific areas including audits and reporting on results.
    • Perform routine audits and report on TPM completion.
    • Keep work area clean.
    • Miscellaneous jobs in the production area, as needed.
    *Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*:
    • Related college/technical school or equivalent experience (mechanical and electrical).
    • Requires the use of complicated drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas, variety of precision measuring instruments.
    • Some trade knowledge in specialized field or process equivalent to one to three years of trade training.
    • Four to six years of direct hands-on experience with maintenance and repair of production equipment.
    *Work Environment:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk.

    The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, use arms and hands to feel or reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on occasion, talk and hear.

    The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may work with materials that could irritate eyes, skin and breathing. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required. The employee will be working near and/or with high-speed automated equipment. This may cause risk of injury if safety procedures are not followed. The work environment is often noisy and hearing protection is required.
