    GENERAL PURPOSE:


    The purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards and product levels of all fresh products for the kitchen.

    This person will be assisting the chefs in the preparation of chef-prepared salads and entrees, preparing items for the salad bar, setting up and taking down the salad and soup bars, preparing and packaging sandwiches, receiving, and stocking product, and providing exceptional customer service.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
    Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the kitchen provides
    Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the kitchen
    Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
    Ensures the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
    Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
    Assists in preparation of chef-prepared salads, entrees, and special orders
    Slices, cuts, and chops fruits, vegetables, and other items to be used in recipes
    Prepares items for the salad bar; greens, walnuts, croutons, beets, bacon, etc.
    Assembling and packaging to-go soups, salads, and sandwiches
    Setup and/or takedown of salad bar and soup bar
    Receiving and stocking of product
    Assists as needed to ensure the success of the kitchen as a whole

    Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
    A high school diploma or GED preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
    Ability to learn and use proper knife skills
    Must enjoy working with and handling food products
    Should have a passion for preparing, cooking, and eating good food
    Ability to read and follow a recipe
    Basic math skills used to double or half a recipe
    Ability to interpret policies and procedures
    Excellent organization and planning skills
    Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills to communicate with customers and fellow associates effectively and efficiently
    Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one's own success as well as the success of your team
    Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons' mission and commitment to working collaboratively
    Continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, personnel minded, detailed, consistent, and forward focused
    Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays

    Also requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds from location to location.
