    JOB SUMMARY:

    Responsible for coordinating and managing existing and future grant-funded programs for Social Services. Responsible for coordinating and managing social services quality controls on all existing funds. Participates in planning and coordination of programs, policies, or objectives for the division. Responsible for managing staff from the quality control department, funding and grants team.

    Responsibilities:
    • Oversees social services grant applications procured by the department and outside collaborating organizations in the community on behalf of social services.
    • In consultation with Division leadership; acts as liaison between department and funding sources/grant officers and outlines how funds are to be used, projected, and explain procedures necessary to ensure grant compliance.
    • Maintain and expand all vendor relationships to increase options for the public and work with community partners to build and improve relationships throughout Fort Bend County.
    • Works closely with Health and Human Services Special Projects Coordinator and assists in researching and writing grants applications, according to HHS policies and grant format.
    • Adhere to grant/funding guidelines and ensure that reporting is accurate, and aligned with compliance timely; monitor and coordinator with Division Leadership to ensure proper use of funds as per Social Services and fund policy.
    • Track data and goals monthly, quarterly, and annually as requested per the grant and/or application. Communicate any updates/changes timely on funding changes/adjustments and/or requirements.
    • Researches grant opportunities and works with Division Leadership and HHS team to assess funding potential and increase grant opportunities.
    • Maintains interdepartmental and external relationships with HHS Divisions, County Departments and community based organizations.
    • Develop and implement data collection systems, track, and maintain data using Caseworthy Software, County systems and any reconciliation needed to ensure funds are accurate, tracked and reported.
    • All other duties as assigned.
    • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Nonprofit Business Management or a related area of study preferred. Combination of work experience and education can be supplemented for a degree. If supplementing with experience, at least two years working directly in budgeting, grants/reporting, finance/accounting. If supplementing with education at least two (2) years working directly in budgeting, grants/reporting, finance/accounting. Preferred background in grant management and financial management.
    • Ability to develop and produce grants and other proposals.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally, and in writing.
    • Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses, reports and accuracy.
    • Skill in the use of computers, and related software applications.
    • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and/or projections.
    • Ability to provide technical advice and information to administration and staff in area of expertise.
    • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements.
    • Ability to conduct literature searches and knowledge of current developments/trends in area of expertise.
    • Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, federal and agency regulations.
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and/or community funding sources and mechanisms.
    • Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.
    • Knowledge of potential sources of health care, social services, contract and grant funding.
    • Excellent computer and data entry skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with the public, staff, leadership, and grant administrators.

    SALARY RANGE: $22.07- $27.59 per hour based on qualifications
