- 8am-3:30 pm
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction to students in different subjects, adjusting teaching methods and materials to cater to individual needs.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, including visual aids, assistive technology, and multisensory approaches, to enrich student learning.
- Regularly assess student progress and modify instructional strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create and implement effective strategies for student success.
- Monitor student behavior and offer behavior management interventions as necessary.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, acceptance, and collaboration among students.
- Keep parents/guardians informed about student progress, goals, and support strategies.
- Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and conferences actively.
- Stay updated on current research, best practices, and legal requirements in special education.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Hold a valid California Teaching Credential in Special Education.
- Demonstrated experience working with students who have moderate to severe disabilities.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Display patience, empathy, and a true passion for working with special needs students.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet individual student needs.
- Proficient in using assistive technology and other tools to aid student learning.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Capable of maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
