    Description
    System Engineer - Packet Capture
    Herndon, VA
    Salary - $210,000 We are seeking a software development expert to contribute to a project aimed at processing and analyzing large volumes of Packet Capture (PCAP) files
    This role involves integrating tools and developing new solutions within the Sponsor's framework
    The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team including software developers, system engineers, architects, and data engineers, focusing on creating interfaces and connections within the Sponsor's operational environment

    Important Requirement:
    Applicants must possess an active Top Secret Clearance and Full-Scope Polygraph
    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the Sponsor's staff and contractors to improve the analysis system, utilizing the Sponsor's unique technologies
    The Contractor's tasks will be directed by the Sponsor's project manager


    • Work on integrating various analytic tools and systems, contributing to both the design and implementation phases
    • Develop and test new capabilities for integration, aiming to derive actionable and predictive insights from the processed data
    • Design and engineer solutions including tool integration, development, and scripting to address specific use cases and uncover insights not readily apparent from the data
    • Assess and suggest improvements to the Sponsor's current strategies for processing PCAP data, aiming for enhanced effectiveness and cost-efficiency
    Required Qualifications

    • U.S
    Citizenship

    • Active Top Secret SCI Clearance with Polygraph
    • Proven experience in Linux administration
    • Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python
    • Familiarity with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and SQL, specifically Data Manipulation Language (DML)
    • Experience in developing software enhancements for Government agencies
    • Experience in integrating multiple applications
    Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)

    • Experience with NiFi and PCAP
    • Understanding of the OSI model
    • Experience with API communication and integration
    • Knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes
    • Familiarity with JIRA
    • Experience in user support, including training
    • Proficiency in rapid prototyping and Agile development methodologies
    • Experience in research and development, progressing ideas to production systems
    • Knowledge of the Sponsor's system deployment processes.
