Radiology Technologist - Humble, United States - Townsen Memorial Hospital

Towsen Memorial is looking to hire a(PRN) Radiology Technologist
to join our team This candidate will be responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operate radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients
Select proper ionizing factors for radiologic diagnosis
Positions patient and set up and adjust equipment to obtain the best quality x-ray of the specific body area requested by the physician
Takes preventative steps to minimize radiation exposure to the patient and fellow staff
Adjusts and sets radiographic controls, such as kilovoltage and milliamperage, to prescribed specifications for proper timing of exposure
Regulates the length and intensity of film exposure
Positions and ensures safety of patient position; and takes X-rays of patients' chest, limbs, or other body parts as requested by the physicians
Implements infection control procedures for the work area
Maintains sterile field and implements best practices while in the operating room
Checks X-ray for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed
Distributes films to appropriate medical staff and transfer images to electronic medical records (EMR)
Maintains quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and facility policy
Performs radiographic procedures for patients in surgery
Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed o equipment
Protects patient and other personnel from radiation hazards
Maintains radiographic supplies, film, and equipment
Assures that all materials and other required equipment, are present and in working order
Follows all safety rules on the job. Reports all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the work place
Protects patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPPA requirements
Adheres to the company standards of business conduct
Performs other duties as assigned as per discretion of physician and manager
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's degree in radiological technology
A.R.R.T certification
Two years of radiology experience in a healthcare facility (with one year in the operating room)
Bachelor's degree in radiological technology (Preferred)
