    Junior Automotive Service Technician Role

    Compensation

    This entry-level position requires no prior automotive repair experience. Junior Automotive Service Technicians can earn between $30,000 and $45,000 per year. The role is designed to train and prepare individuals to become ASE-Certified Automotive Service Technicians. We offer comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan with a company match and profit sharing.

    Work Schedule

    We operate Monday – Friday from 7:45AM – 5:30PM, allowing for up to a 1-hour lunch break. This schedule enables our employees to have weekends free for personal time with family and friends.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Determine mechanical issues visually or using computer diagnostic equipment.
    • Perform tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper functioning and inspect critical components.
    • Carry out routine and preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes and tune-ups.
    • Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems, such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical components.
    • Conduct further tests, which may include test driving the vehicle, to ensure repairs are accurate.
    • Complete other assigned duties related to vehicle repair.

    PREFERRED SKILLS

    • A valid driver's license and ability to be insured by our auto insurance.
    • Basic knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.
    • Familiarity with basic mechanical repair techniques.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical problems.
    • Familiarity with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
    • Ability to read service and repair manuals.
    • Efficiently perform repairs within given timeframes.
    • Ability to interpret work orders.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • ASE Certification A1 through A8 preferred.
    • 0 to 3 years of related experience preferred.

    Physical Requirements

    • Work safely in a noisy area with various odors present.
    • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
    • Inspect vehicles to determine necessary repairs.
    • Good eyesight for inspecting repair work.
    • Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
