SPEC FAB MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Convert client specifications into a physical drawing using floor plans, quotes and purchase orders; help design new products, update existing products; create standard models, edit any changes based on the customers preference.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

• Research and apply standard and custom product line and methods of sheet metal fabrication to product drawings
• Troubleshoot problems with other CAD Draftspersons concerning specific projects and equipment requests
• Drafts detailed drawings of equipment using Auto Cad programs
• Queries similar drawings previously completed by the company to assist in drawing new products.
• Communicates with customers to clarify questions regarding equipment requests
• Coordinate with other teams to ensure the model is correct
• Other duties as deemed necessary

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associates degree in drafting from a Technical School
• Minimum 1-year experience / training or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Hands on experience with CAD software
• Previous experience working with stainless steel materials
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing setting as a Drafter or similar role

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to problem solve
• Solid mathematical skills
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Time management skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Proven ability to use various drafting software (Auto Cad; Solid Works, etc.)
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Quality and Detail conscious
• Able to read blueprints
• Measuring accurately

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently, must be able to see, hear, speak, walk, bend, reach and stand. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
