    Job Description Summary
    Exciting new opportunity in our Solar and Storage business right here in the UK .
    You will provide full "Engineer, Procure & Construct" estimates for energy storage balance of plant facilities.

    Proposals include technical specifications, quantifying design & installation work scope definition, equipment and material cost estimating, and estimation of engineering, installation and start-up based on customer specifications and/or industry standards, sourcing, and historical data.

    Job Description


    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Interpret drawings, specifications, and scope documents for thorough preparation of estimates
    • Perform material takeoffs from layouts, general arrangement, and one-line diagrams to prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for all disciplines (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical)
    • Perform basic studies necessary to verify proper specification and design of proposed solutions
    • Provide technical support to create subcontractors and power equipment bid packages
    • Augment the commercial team for customer presentations of technical capabilities and proposals
    • Champion programs that make the application engineering team more efficient and cost effective
    • Develop new engineering concepts and products based on feedback from market exposure
    • Work with, leading where appropriate, multifunctional engineering teams in the development of conceptual solutions, technical work scope, & specifications for project applications
    • Support opportunity screening and orders closing strategy efforts
    • Ensure compliance to customer regional and country technical specifications for proposal work scopes
    • Provide risk analysis support based on customer RFQ reviews
    • Work in close coordination with the AC Systems Project execution team
    • Maintain a high level of technical competency in current technologies, product offerings & their applications

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a wealth of design and experience in substation, transmission, distribution, or power generation (wind, solar, energy
    storage) projects for the power generation/distribution/transmission industry or equivalent


    • Prior experience with technical proposal writing and costing

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% as required

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Great communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
    • Construction, field testing and commissioning experience
    • Energetic and able to work in a team environment
    • Knowledge of and experience using Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE), British Standards Institute (BSI) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards and codes.
    • Experience in computer aided estimating programs (Success, Timberline, MC2, HardDollar, etc.)
    • Familiarity with and ability to apply RS Mean, Richardson, or other standard costing tools to support substation, transmission, and generation projects
    • Knowledge of substation, generation, transmission, and distribution physical/outdoor design and construction including foundation design and site preparation
    • Knowledge of substation protection & control schemes, SCADA communication systems, factory and site testing, commissioning methods, and maintenance
    • Excellent personal computer skills, including software development, and familiarity with AutoCAD / Revit desired
    • Experienced user of MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
