    Description

If you're based around Baltimore, MD, specifically near Westminster, MD or Frederick, MD, this role involves carrying out inspections on boilers and pressure vessels in the area.

    As a Boiler Inspector (Jurisdictional Consultant), you'll learn how to effectively manage, inspect, evaluate, and advise clients within the framework of various codes and regulations.

    • Education: The ideal candidate will possess a BS in Engineering, an associate degree from a technical school, or a high school diploma (or equivalent) depending on experience and other factors.
    • Desired: Preferably, someone with existing National Board and state certifications who is capable of reviewing repairs per NBIC and FMIC requirements.
    • Required: Meeting the criteria of the National Board In-Service commission qualification requirements is essential. Passing the National Board Exam, fulfilling State requirements, and obtaining a National Board Commission and certification from at least one jurisdiction within 12 months of starting the role.
    • Experience: Applicants must meet the experience standards outlined in the current National Board Rules for Commissioned Inspectors to obtain the initial National Board Inservice Commission (IS). Experience in boiler and pressure vessel operations, mechanical and electrical equipment, nondestructive methods, and management system understanding is key.
    • Skills/Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge in boiler and pressure vessel construction and inspection, effective communication, time management, problem-solving, basic computer skills, and the ability to work autonomously or within a team.
