    Position Summary
    The applicant will be trained to work mostly independently to design and research projects. The applicant will provide supervision and guidance for students and other personnel.

    Work involves 1) characterization of RSV vaccines, 2) design, and optimization of experiments for analysis, and 3) optimization of assays to better understand host responses to inflammation and viral disease. Performance differs from a technician's in planning and executing complex experiments, analyzing data, and applying theoretical concepts.

    Will perform sterile techniques, follow existing lab SOPs, have good communication, willingness to learn and develop new competencies

    Planning and executing data analysis and summarizing results.


    This includes characterization of vaccine candidates, optimization of RSV immunogens and adjuvants, design and optimization of experiments to analyze vaccine outcomes, execution of various assays to evaluate outcomes, molecular biology optimization, and response to emerging infectious diseases.

    This includes establishing and editing SOPs, providing guidance on SOPs, aiding and performing autoclaving, glass washing, stock ordering, inventory organization, preparation of solutions, and equipment maintenance.
