Job Title: Animal Control and Welfare Officer at County Shelter

• Performs county shelter maintenance procedures according to the Animal Care Facilities Act, including feeding, watering, sanitization, and other animal welfare tasks.
• Conducts grounds maintenance, such as mowing, weed-eating, and snow removal on County animal shelter grounds.
• Handles housekeeping maintenance of the Division Administration areas, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
• Administers animal sedations and provides first aid to injured animals when necessary.
• Assists in providing medications, exercise, and socialization sessions to animals as required by regulations.
• Conducts animal intake, medical evaluations, and temperament testing.
• Assists with customer service, data entry, and adoption tours.
• Participates in courtroom testimony for violations of animal control laws.
• Aids in impoundment intake procedures and evaluation.
• Provides on-the-job training to new personnel as needed.
• Responds to emergency animal shelter operations and disaster situations.
• Performs assigned duties during specified business hours.
• Completes additional duties as assigned.
