- Leads innovation process and facilitates regular innovation meetings
- Drives new innovation idea generation efforts and manages innovation idea database
- Drives 3-year technology plan
- Leads development of new innovation "proof of concept" projects
- Supervises innovation team and innovation development engineers
- Creates and manages university, idea incubator and other outside relationships for potential Midea collaboration and adoption.
- Inspires US team to push boundaries for product and service ideas
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- 10-15 years experience in consumer product development with 5-7 years experience in innovative product development roles
- Experience using consumer insights to drive product development
- Thorough knowledge of engineering product development processes
- Experience with new and emerging technology identification and development
- Experience/expertise with innovation processes and idea generation
- Thorough knowledge of intellectual property and protection
- Experience with open innovation and collaboration in an engineering environment
- Master of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- MBA
- Knowledge of US agency and compliance standards.

Summary
To better enable our primary focus of developing innovative products for the US market, we are seeking a creative engineer to lead Midea's innovation efforts for the US market. This position will drive the innovation and idea generation process, and establish outside relationships to drive new technology into Midea appliances. The ultimate results expected are unique, innovative and compelling new products and services for Midea in the US market. This is a full-time position. Some international travel is required.
