    Role description:
    Arcadis is currently searching for a Senior Level Energy/Mechanical Engineer to help lead our growing clean energy team. This position can be based in any Upstate NY location.

    The role will be responsible for growing and delivering energy efficiency, renewable generation, electrification, decarbonization, commissioning, retro-commissioning and other clean energy and energy-related projects throughout the U.S., but will be primarily focused in the Northeast U.S.


    Role accountabilities:


    Lead project execution & delivery within the clean energy space focused primarily on energy and demand measures (energy-efficiency, building/fleet electrification, and behind-the-meter/net metered distributed renewable generation) in addition to some engineer design, commissioning and retro-commissioning to support facility- or enterprise-wide decarbonization strategies.


    Drive business growth through successful delivery of projects, development of technical approach for scopes of work, and commitment to client satisfaction.


    Oversee and manage staff that are responsible for gathering information; evaluating, analyzing, and supporting visualization of energy use data; completing energy efficiency, distributed generation, and alternative energy calculations; completing building and system modeling; completing technical and financial calculations.


    Provide quality reviews and technical guidance for engineering analyses, modeling, calculations, sizing, optimization to support execution and delivery of feasibility studies, energy audits, sustainability plans, detailed mechanical designs, and related design support.

    Manage field activities associated with clean energy projects including energy audits, lighting inventories, implementation oversight, and measurement and verification.

    Coordinate and direct task managers, project managers, project teams, and clients.

    Provide technical and business mentorship to professional staff.

    Manage project schedule and budget.


    Qualifications & Experience:
    Required Qualifications

    10+ years of experience in clean energy, MEP design or construction related field.

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Energy Engineering, or a related technical degree with proven work experience.

    Experience with project management.

    Deep experience in one or more technical areas related to building/mechanical systems, energy efficiency, renewable generation and other clean energy technologies.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Prior work experience (15 plus years) in Consulting Engineering or other business working in the clean energy sector.

    PE, CEM or LEED AP certification or other engineering- energy- or sustainability-related accreditation, certification or training.

    Experience or keen interest in project management and project delivery, staff mentorship, client management, and business development.

    Direct experience with implementation of energy efficiency and distributed generation measures, and MEP project delivery.

    We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $146,000.
