    As a Professional Land Surveyor you will play a key part in insuring the accuracy and compliance of your assigned Kiewit Project.

    You will function as part of a survey team and ensure documentation compliance as well as operate all survey instruments with a high degree of proficiency.

    Responsibilities


    • Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
    • Verify mathematical calculations.
    • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain.
    • Calculate geographic positions from survey data.
    • Gather physical survey data.
    • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
    • Direct surveying activities.
    • Document technical design details.
    • Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
    • Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features.
    • Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
    • Record the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
    • Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with projects.
    • Coordinate activities with suppliers, contractors, clients, or other departments.
    • Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering instruments.
    • Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.
    • Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy.
    • Calibrate scientific or technical equipment.
    • Analyze survey objectives and specifications to prepare survey proposals or to direct others in survey proposal preparation.
    • Analyze physical, survey, or geographic data.
    • Develop criteria for survey methods and procedures.
    • Determine operational criteria or specifications.
    • Develop criteria for the design and modification of survey instruments.
    Qualifications


    • Minimum of an Associate's degree is preferred
    • PLS or RPLS for the state of CA, OR, UT and WA preferred
    • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in Construction Survey, Dimensional Control, Industrial Measurement, or a related field is required
    • Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to perform calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage)
    • Dynamic thinker with the desire to lead, motivate and mentor teams
    • Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity
    • Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Suite
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team
    • Committed to working safe and getting the job done right the first time
    • Ability to travel and relocate as required

    Base Compensation:
    $56,706 - $87,084

    (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
