    Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for an experienced, Project Safety Engineer , for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the U.S. Air Force facility near Ogden, UT. This onsite role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime. Standard per diem is not offered but can be broken out of the base rate. Our client is targeting $85.00/hour for this role.

    U.S. Citizenship is required.

    Position Summary :
    Our client is contracted to Northrop Grumman to provide launch system design, construction, and integration for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) system. This is U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nations ground element of the nuclear deterrent. Essential duties include develop and execute the safety and occupational health component of an Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) program. Full time presence on project is required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provides technical assistance to other Safety Services Specialists, construction supervision, subcontractor personnel, field engineers, and client personnel.
    • Executes assignments involving significant safety and health issues and risks, using judgment and experience in the application of scientific techniques and plans to reduce the potential for adverse impacts.
    • Integrates safety and health requirements into proposals, planning documents, design, construction, commissioning and startup, operations, schedules, procurement, and subcontract documents.
    • Provides input on bid decisions, proposal development, and estimates (scope, constraints, schedules, budgets) with respect to integration and compliance with safety and health requirements.
    • Interprets requirements and provides technical assistance within ES&H teams and to other project groups regarding risk and hazard assessment, plan preparation, and ES&H program execution.
    • Researches issues and regulatory requirements, performs studies and risk assessments, and prepares documentation and reports.
    • Performs safety studies, risk assessments, and other safety and health reviews.
    • Drafts and helps implement the project Safety and Health Management Plan, associated plans and procedures, and training program.
    • Helps establish emergency preparedness and performs incident investigations.
    • Helps identify stakeholders and resolve their concerns.
    • Provides input to other project groups, so that safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning, design, construction plans, procurement, and subcontracts.
    • Participates in meetings, as required, with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of environmental, safety and health requirements.
    • Conducts inspections and monitoring to help evaluate ES&H performance, identify corrective actions, and confirm compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
    • Develops safety and health communication through publications, flyers, posters, signs, banners, and other communication media.
    • Analyzes data, tracks ES&H performance and trends, and prepares technical reports.
    • Supports other ES&H team members and tasks associated with all three ES&H disciplines.
