RNTelemetry PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Indianapolis, Indiana.

IN or Compact License
Minimum 2 years experience

ACLS

Others Details:
First Time Travelers Accepted
May be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU)
MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS, WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS. TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT.
If candidates have IN/Compact license in hand or have submitted their fingerprint application package then they are eligible to apply

Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12

Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract

Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.

Certification Requirements:

ACLSand BCLS

Skillset Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience
Proficient in cardiac monitoring- on unit monitoring
Management of chest tubes
Fresh trachs
Feeding tube care and management
Care of post of patients
Epidurals
Management of non-titratable cardiac drips
IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
External BiPAP/CPAP
Total laryngectomy
Doppler flap checks

Floating Requirements:
Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU)

Staffing Ratios: 1:4

Unit Information:
Surgical PCU- almost ICU level acuity- ENT (Neck dissections, Mandibulectomy), Thoracic (Esophagectomy, Lobectomy, Pneumonectomy), General Surg.

(Pancreatic, Bowel/ liver resections), Urology (Urinary diversions, cystectomies, RPLND), Medical overflow Unit:
