    Location - We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and in one of the following states - TX, FL, CA, NC, GA, CT, or ME.

    Preference/Priority will be given to candidates based in Austin, TX or those willing to relocate unassisted.

    What You'll Be Doing


    Create and customize WordPress themes to match the design requirements; implement responsive design principles to ensure a consistent user experience across different devices.

    Architect scalable backend systems, anticipating increased traffic and data requirements.
    Develop and customize plugins with unique functionalities to meet project requirements. Ensure seamless integration with the WordPress ecosystem, maintaining compatibility, functionality, and security coherence.
    Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
    Implement robust security practices to safeguard against web vulnerabilities. Proactively maintain, monitor, and update WordPress core, themes, and plugins to mitigate security risks. Conduct thorough security audits and promptly address any vulnerabilities.
    Proactively optimize and manage databases to enhance overall performance.

    Optimize and enhance server performance through efficient coding practices, potent caching mechanisms, and performance optimization strategies, ensuring swift page loading and scalability.

    Integrate external services, APIs, and tools into the WordPress site. Ensure seamless communication between WordPress and other systems.
    Expertly troubleshoot and resolve issues with servers, databases, and code, ensuring seamless operation within the WordPress environment.
    Drive responsive design implementation, ensuring seamless user experiences on diverse devices, and develop adaptable websites for various screen sizes.
    Efficiently utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage and streamline collaborative codebase management
    Participate in Agile development processes, encompassing sprint planning, estimations, and routine stand-up project and team meetings.
    Other duties as assigned.

    About You

    5+ years of progressive backend web developer experience
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
    Exhibits advanced hands on skills and 5+ years recent expertise in PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, and diverse backend tools
    Strong understanding of website optimization techniques
    Proven expertise in optimizing mobile user experiences, demonstrating mastery in modern web development practices
    Demonstrated proficiency in implementing robust website security practices
    Deep, comprehensive knowledge of common web vulnerabilities, along with effective mitigation strategies
    WordPress experience required
    WPML, WPEngine, and Elementor experience highly preferred
    Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues
    Excellent communication and proven collaboration and teamwork skills
    Self-starter attitude comfortable working in a startup environment

    Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills.

    The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage and PTO. For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $00,000 to $00,000 per year.
