    Who You'll Work With:

    We are seeking a San Antonio based GORM Team Leader to join our Global Operational Risk Management Department in Global Technology & Operations.

    GORM (Global Operational Risk Management) is responsible for detection and investigation of any potential or actual transactions that may be in violation of the policies and procedures established to ensure compliance with external regulations such as the Patriot Act and the Bank Secrecy Act and internal requirements such as prospectus stipulations. In addition, GORM provides a variety of transaction and surveillance reviews aimed at reducing potential fraudulent losses and/or detect and deter short term and excessive trading.

    The role will supervise 5 Associates in the Global Operational Risk Management Department and assist the GORM Manager in managing the processes within the group. The GORM Team is essential to ABIS to ensure compliance with applicable Anti-Money Laundering, Blue Sky, and Excessive Trading (22c-2) requirements. In addition, GORM's prospectus and procedurally focused reviews help to maintain ABIS' compliance with 22c-2 requirements, which ultimately benefit AB Funds on this previously scrutinized area.

    What You'll Do:
    • Supervise the associates responsible for the daily monitoring and review of the TA processes (AML, Fraud, and Prospectus compliance reviews)
    • Supervise team administration (i.e. performance reviews, attendance, vacation records, ABIS policies, etc.)
    • Serve as a resource for daily issues from team members and other departments on procedures
    • Work with Manager on development and implementation of process improvements
    • Provide guidance to client and internal departments regarding operational requirements for the Transfer Agency
    • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
    • Submit necessary internal monthly reporting
    • Update procedures and provide training for new hires as well as assess continuous training needs for team members
    • Assist in the processing and quality review of subscriptions, withdrawals and expenses including repetitive and non-repetitive wires.
    • Participate and contribute to ABIS initiatives
    • Stays informed of current laws, regulations, and common practices in the Mutual Fund arena
    • Performs other duties, as assigned
    What We're Looking For:
    • 3 years mutual fund operations or financial services experience (within ABIS is preferred)
    • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
    Skills:
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage others and relationships
    • Strong problem-solving or analytical/critical thinking skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task/reprioritize
    • Ability to follow documented procedures and apply sound professional judgment
    Special Knowledge (if applicable): Knowledge and experience of AML, Fraud Prevention, and compliance monitoring.
