    The growth and diversification of the Power Business Line is a top initiative on both a regional and national scale. Our projects involve the design of high voltage infrastructure to support the upgrading and expansion of the electrical grid, design of wind generation sites, photovoltaic generation sites, and battery storage facilities.

    We are looking for a Civil/Structural Substation Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Pittsburgh, PA, Roanoke, VA, Phoenix, AZ , St. Louis, MO or Marlton, NJ

    What You Will Do

    As a Civil/Structural Substation Engineer you will Independently applies advanced theories, concepts, and principles of engineering to resolve crucial issues and unique conditions. Serves as a technical specialist in analyzing the components of projects, establishing design criteria, and executing designs.

    Responsibilities include.

    • Performs advanced computations or analysis for design of steel structures and equipment foundations for high voltage utility substation applications.
    • Checks calculations prepared by less experienced staff.
    • Mentors less experienced staff.
    • Construction coordination for responding to civil/structural related construction RFIs.
    • Maintains client relationships.
    • Leads in the preparation of specifications.
    • Participates in continuing education to maintain professional licenses in at least one state.
    • Assists in the development of fee proposals.
    • Performs QAQC reviews for structural documents.
    • Routinely participates in multidisciplinary coordination meetings.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
    • Professional Engineer (PE) License and ability to obtain multiple jurisdictions
    • 7+ years of applicable experience high voltage power experience preferred
    • Expertise with MS Office
    • Knowledge of advanced (3D) design software
    • Specialized experience in advanced software applications required (RISA, FAD, etc.)
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to lead client presentations
