    SUMMARY

    GP-12 Technician will inspect products and assist Engineers and Quality Engineers in the completion of their responsibilities with the Paint Line.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support production of quality parts in terms of dimensional and appearance-related standards
    • Approve 1st parts in responsible areas
    • Perform regular audits of dimensional measurements per schedule
    • Quarantine suspect material/parts as necessary
    • Sort suspect material/parts as necessary
    • Audit part quality for appearance compliance per schedule
    • Review and audit scrap for quantity accuracy and accuracy of classification
    • Submit end-of-shift report according to direction
    • Visit customers as directed
    • Identify inefficiencies (scrap, rework, throughput, labor) within assigned programs to determine root cause, identify a solution and implement the solution
    • Responsible for other duties or special projects as assigned

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    QUALITY:

    While performing the essential functions of this job, action must be initiated to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, process, and quality system. This includes: initiation and verification of corrective action, control of further processing including stopping production and reporting quality concerns to any level of management.

    While performing the essential functions of the job, action must be taken to maintain, conform and improve the company's Environmental Management System. Action should be initiated to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity by reporting problems and concerns directly to management.
