- Consistently provides connectivity to users and end devices throughout the LAN and WAN; including, but not limited to, the creation of cables and documentation of those connections.
- Effectively troubleshoots connectivity issues, ensuring the proper configuration of those connections, with assistance as necessary.
- Ensures physical installation and configuration of new network hardware, which may include switches, servers, and wireless devices.
- Monitors, reviews and verifies that physical connectivity can be achieved for required installation and requirements for cabling.
- Assists in servicing malfunctioning network equipment.
- Assists in applying updates and performing maintenance on network equipment and patch closets under the guidance of the Supervisor.
- Keeps detailed documentation of departmental policies and procedural changes.
- A degree in Computer Science or related technical field and/or minimum equivalent experience of three years working in an IT environment.
- Possesses knowledge of Networking Concepts, such as DNS, Internet Protocol, other network protocols, Routing, Remote Access, cabling systems, wiring topologies, and security.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Operating Systems, such as Microsoft, Netware, AIX, Linux, Solaris, MAC, etc.
- Must have good organizational, verbal, and written communications skills. Ability to perform in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates the ability to project a professional, positive, calm demeanor, while executing the essential duties of the position.
- Has the proven ability to work with Operating Systems technologies, Network Technologies, Hardware technologies, etc.
- Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Flexible and willingness to be on call 24/7.
- Demonstrated experience working with gaming and/or hospitality systems.
- Certified Cisco Network Supervisor (CCNA) or technical equivalent in related discipline.
- Experience with Extreme/Avaya networking or SPBm.
- Experience with enterprise wireless solutions
- Certification and/or experience with Operating Systems such as Microsoft, Netware, AIX, Linux, Solaris, MAC, etc.
