    Assistant Project Manager Description:
    The Assistant Project Manager shall assist our project manager. Responsibilities will include overseeing individual jobs or projects.

    Managing those jobs or projects initiates from the point of contract award and through steel installation (under the direction from the Project Manager).

    This will mean generating material lists (based on detailed drawings), ordering material from our vendors (following our Purchase Order process), and ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

    The Assistant PM is in constant contact with our detailers and vendors.

    Assistant PMs will have multiple projects under their purview that differ in percentage of project completion and shall be able to track and maintain the status of each.

    It is important that the assistant PM maintains regular communication with internal and external parties to ensure that all projects are completed.

    The Assistant PM role is a position of growth, and it is expected to be filled by someone who is willing and able to learn.

    Oversee projects to maintain schedule and ensure projects are completed in the allotted time frame.
    Responsible for driving project progress internally and externally.
    Proactively monitor, track, and take necessary action to deliver projects at or below estimated cost.
    Coordinate timelines with Production and purchasing of all materials needed for the job.
    Tracking active and executed change orders.
    Review project drawings and submitting them to detailers.
    Review completed shop drawings.
    Participate in company safety program and coordinate/create project specific job hazard assessments.

    Work Environment
    Primarily in an office setting.
    Occasionally the Assistant PM may be required to enter the fabrication shop or perform site visits. When out of the office, safety, environmental and health concerns require the necessary precautions for that particular site.
    Physical Demands
    This is a largely a sedentary role.

    This position may require an individual to sit at a computer station/desk for prolonged periods of time up (10 hours a day).

    The employee is regularly required to read, count and write/type to accurately complete documentation required for the position. This position may require some walking, bending, reaching and standing.
    Position Type/Expected Work Hours
    This is a full-time position.
    Standard days and hours of work are

    Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m . with a 1/2 hour lunch as scheduled with management. This position may require hours beyond the standard working hours listed above to satisfy job duties and department demand.
    Travel
    Minimal travel is required for this position.
    Required Education, Experience and Clearances
    Associate's Degree
    Valid Driver's License & Evidence of Ability to Insure
    Criminal Justice Background Check (state and federal)
    Preferred Education & Experience
    1 year experience in a construction related field
    Reading blueprints, plans and details
    AISC Steel Construction
    Background in common steel shapes
    AAP/EEO Statement
