Job Summary

DSI is hiring a Lieutenant for operations at the Port of Panama City. This leadership role requires prior law enforcement or port security experience and a strong ability to supervise personnel in a high-security maritime environment.

The Lieutenant oversees daily security operations, ensures compliance with DSI policies and port regulations, and provides direct leadership to assigned security staff.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily security operations at the assigned port facility
• Lead, train, and support assigned security personnel
• Assign patrol areas and monitor officer performance
• Enforce DSI policies, client requirements, and port regulations
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for personnel, visitors, and cargo operations
• Identify, report, and address security incidents and safety concerns
• Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time
• Serve as liaison between site personnel, port representatives, and DSI management

 

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Prior law enforcement or port security experience required
• 1–3 years of supervisory experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation and communication
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic to intermediate computer skills
• Ability to perform foot patrols and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must meet all pre-employment requirements

Licensing & Credentials (Required)

• Valid Florida Class D Security License
• Active TWIC card
