    Who You Are


    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructional Designer to join our Training Team within our global supply chain organization.

    The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing effective training programs to meet the needs of our employees and clients in the supply chain industry.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, e-learning development, and project management, as well as an understanding of the supply chain industry.

    They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts, multimedia developers, and other stakeholders.

    In this fast-paced role, you will be an integral part of the Supply Chain Academy training team, responsible for designing learning activities, assignments, and assessments for an organization of over 1600 people.

    Every day will be unique as you collaborate with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to develop course content. You may also teach in a classroom, or virtual setting to supply chain employees.

    In this role, you will make a difference by creating targeted training material that ensures our workforce has the skills needed to execute the supply chain of the future.

    What You Will Be Doing


    • Conduct needs analysis from competency model data to identify training needs and objectives within the supply chain industry
    • Design and develop instructional materials, including course outlines, lesson plans, storyboards, and assessments that align with industry standards and best practices
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts in the supply chain industry to develop engaging and interactive learning experiences
    • Develop e-learning courses using authoring tools such as PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline, or similar, with a focus on supply chain concepts and processes
    • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines
    • Ensure all instructional materials are aligned with learning objectives and meet quality standards
    • Conduct formative and summative evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs within the organization
    • Collaborate with multimedia developers to incorporate audio, video, and animation into instructional materials
    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in instructional design and e-learning development
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the organization's supply chain training curriculum

    Basic Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in instructional design, education, human behavior or related field
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in instructional design, e-learning development, or related field
    • Expertise in instructional design theories and models
    • Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar
    Desired Skills:


    • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts, multimedia developers, and other stakeholders within the supply chain industry
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong attention to detail
    • Experience with learning management systems (LMS)
    • Familiarity with accessibility standards
    • Experience teaching content, as required
    • Visual design, storyboarding, and typographic principles

    Remote Telework:

    The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site.

    Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $105,000 - $197,800.

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $91,300 - $175,000 .

    Non-represented full-time employees:

    accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

    Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

    PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

    This position is incentive plan eligible.
