    Job Title Staff Audiologist Department Office of the Dean, College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences Pay Grade 1 Job Category Administrative Job Summary
    The College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences is accepting applications for a Staff Audiologist.

    The Staff Audiologist will evaluate, treat and counsel patients with hearing disorders to improve communication function at the Nave Center. Initiates collaboration with the health care team to meet patient care, outcomes. Will participate in clinical education through student supervision. The Staff Audiologist will participate in the instruction of graduate students in Audiology.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledgeable about completing full diagnostic hearing assessments for adults and pediatric populations using the appropriate testing method and equipment for the patient type, diagnosis, and reason for referral.
    • Ability to formulate and/or implement a treatment plan inclusive of hearing aid amplification to address deficits and patient/family areas of concern.
    • Ability to complete documentation promptly.
    • Experience providing education/consultation to patients, families, healthcare teams, and the community.
    • Knowledge of hearing aid programming software for fitting amplification devices.
    • Knowledge of using middle ear analyzers and hearing aid verification systems.
    • Ability to make earmold impressions.
    • Experience coordinating diagnostic information with referral sources including physicians and other healthcare providers.
    • Knowledge and skill necessary to perform in-office repairs and modifications on earmolds and hearing aids.
    • Organization skills are necessary to maintain accurate electronic medical records related to patient care.
    • Ability to supervise students which will include direct supervision of students across all clinical placements, monitoring and approving student hours, and completing midterm and final student evaluations each semester.
    Required Qualifications
    • Audiology (AuD) Degree or Master's Degree in Audiology.
    • Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
    • Meets ASHA requirements for clinical supervision of students.
    • Eligible to obtain a license to practice Audiology in the State of Tennessee.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • One (1) year or more of experience as a clinical audiologist is preferred due to the student supervision requirement.
    • Knowledge of or experience with cochlear implant management and osseointegrated technologies.
    • Experience with implantable candidacy evaluations.
    • Experience with auditory physiologic measures including ABR , OAEs, VNGs, and VHIT .
    • Experience working with an interprofessional team.
