- Collaborate with the team to automate Linux system builds, design network architecture, and ensure cybersecurity compliance.
- Manage core subsystems and services including storage, DNS, email, VMware clusters, and backups.
- Implement new systems and upgrade existing ones in accordance with security policies and best practices.
- Understand and apply cybersecurity policies and procedures for Government sectors' information systems.
- Provide technical expertise to recommend solutions and implementations aligned with program requirements.
- Communicate effectively, demonstrate flexibility, and take ownership of projects.
- Take primary responsibility for specific technical areas, cross-train, and support other areas as required.
- Uphold superior attention to detail, maintain a positive attitude, and deliver exceptional customer service
- Proficiency in on-prem server and storage hardware provisioning, installation, and maintenance from vendors such as HPE and Dell.
- Expertise in Red Hat Linux/Unix environments, preferably holding Red Hat Certified System Engineer (RHCSE) certification or equivalent skills, with at least 5 years of experience as a Linux system engineer/admin.
- Experience in VMware administration including vSphere, vSAN, virtual distributed switches, and vCenter.
- Proficiency in writing and deploying Linux/UNIX scripts for system administration and file management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and security engineering experience.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and tools as needed, such as Apache NiFi
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5 years of experience is desired, with a focus on IT infrastructure and security engineering
